Langley Primary School is committed to ensuring the highest standards in protecting and safeguarding the welfare of the children and young people entrusted to its care at all times.
All current teachers and support staff have received the appropriate checks (CRB checking) as have many of our Governors and parent volunteers.
Staff attend regular safeguarding training where they are reminded and updated on our child protection procedures, approved by governors (see policy) and undergo a range of awareness enhancing activities.
In addition to this Langley prides itself on its rigorous and regularly updated health and safety assessments, including risk assessments in and around our buildings and fire evacuation procedures.
Following our OFSTED inspection in July 2014 Langley has been praised for our work in keeping children safe and secure, both in the school building and online. All adults around the building wear identity badges as well as our welcomed visitors. With such a large site we have numerous entrance points into our building. We ensure that doors are keep closed at all times with coded keypads for additional safety. You might also notice staff wearing high-visibility-vests during playtimes if you visit school, this is to ensure that pupil’s can quickly locate staff, should they need to.

“The school’s work to keep pupils safe and secure is good. Pupil’s are confident that the school is safe, and staff and most parents agree with them. Leaders ensure that the site is safe and that entry is restricted with rigorous procedures applied when visitor arrive. Staff are fully checked for their suitability, and all required training is in place to ensure safeguarding of pupils is thorough.” Ofsted July 2014
