Enabling Environments

Every aspect of the indoor and outdoor environment has been considered to support children in their learning and is resourced with age appropriate equipment and toys.

We aim to provide a safe, clean and challenging environment where children can explore, rest, play and feel welcome.

The indoor environment is well resourced and room layouts are carefully considered to best meet the needs of the children. Open plan rooms with boxes of resources on the children’s level encourage them to make their own choices. Sensory and messy play activities such as painting, sticking, water and play dough are accessible daily.

The grounds provide great spaces for children to learn about the outdoor environment and develop a range of skills. There are opportunities to look for insects in the bug hotel, plant and grow vegetables and flowers, make mud pies in the mud kitchen, ride on bikes and scooters or practice balancing and climbing skills using a variety of equipment.

We regularly plan trips into the local community such as walks to the park, visits to the library or to the train station.
