Geography gives children a clear sense of their place in the world. At TGPAL, we encourage children to observe and ask questions about the human and physical aspects of local, regional, national, international and global geography. They are particularly encouraged to make comparisons in order to understand the diversity of our world, and to consider the interaction between human and physical aspects of geography. To this end, knowledge, understanding and skills from previous years is consistently reinforced and re-visited. Where applicable, opportunities will be taken to address any significant geographical issues which arise in the news or media. We also prioritise fieldwork both on and off site to develop and embed practical skills.
